Sending Samples
- One flask per sample is sufficient, minimum volume is 10 mL.

- Do not treat samples! No filtration, no additives, no freezing.

- Use powder-free gloves for sampling, if possible.

- On the day of sampling please do not use perfumes, hair conditioners, creams, etc.

- Do NOT speak, sneeze or cough while sampling.

- If possible, label the flasks with self-adhesive labels before sampling. If you do not know the precise sampling sites, mark flasks in consecutive order and note sampling sites separately. WHY?: Felt pens release organic solvents!

- Before you sample, think about where to put the closure that it will not be contaminated! At site, rinse flasks 2x with sample, then sample and close. Leave some air space in the flask. If your sample contains reduced ground waters: Precipitation of iron can be prevented by filling flasks ”bottom-up” with a tube, prevent air space.

- For "hot" waste waters (before treatment) and in case of slow shipment of samples at warm seasons we recommend to pasteurize closed flasks before shipment: Pasteurize samples in a water bath for 15-13 min at 65-80 °C. At site you may use a tea-kettle: Boil 1L of water, and let it cool for 10 min and insert sample flasks (10-50 mL). Wait about 1 hr. For larger flasks you have to reheat the kettle occasionally. Make sure labels do not come off and are still readable.

Sample shipping

Each sampling bottle or flasks must be wrapped INDIVIDUALLY with soft material (minimum thickness: 50 mL: 0.5 cm; 100 mL: 1 cm, 500 mL: 5 cm).

Samples should be in our Lab at least 2-3 days after sampling. This is usually the case for UPS, FedEx, DHL, TNT or other courier services. In all other cases we recommend pasteurisation of samples (see above).

For shipment we recommend international couriers (UPS, FedEx, TNT, DHL, others) but Standard Post may provide a similar service. For customs, declare goods as ”Distilled water samples for analysis, no commercial value” (Customs tariff number: 28530010) or as ”Sea water samples for analysis, no commercial value” (Customs tariff number: 25010010). The ”total value for customs” has to be below 20 €. Do not mark a specific time for delivery - this is expensive and not necessary; delivery is typically in the morning.

Upon request, we can provide sampling materials.

Sampling/Shipping
You are here: Home > Sending Samples
Actual prices are effective from 2009 and apply to all customers in all countries. There are no additional fees or ”hidden” costs.
Samples may be sent any time, the lab has no holidays.

Standard LC-OCD-OND analysis
(2009)

We do not charge for sample pre-treatment, like neutralisation or membrane extraction. Minimum sample volume is 10 mL.

Price reduction scheme:

Marine Waters
(2009)

With slight adaptations of chromatographic conditions LC-OCD-OND can also be used to analyse NOM in marine waters. As longer columns are used chromatograms take longer time (250 min). Due to this the price is fixed to 400 € (Euro) without reductions for BC and MC status.
Minimum sample volume is 50 mL. Please mark ”marine samples” on flask or accompanying letter.

Ultrapure Water analysis
(2009)

Since 2004, DOC-LABOR is capable to characterise organics in waters with TOC-values in the sub-1-ppb concentration range after 40-fold pre-
concentration by quartz-glass rotary evaporation at 40°C. This includes the identification and quantification of compounds including NOM, urea and resin leaching compounds in the ppt range.

Minimum sample volume is 1000 mL.

The price for one LC-OCD-OND analysis of UPW is 1000 € (Euro). This includes pre-concentration, the analysis, and a full individual report with interpretation on the basis of the analytical data and (optional) additional information given by customer.

A reduced price of 800 € (Euro) is given to customers with ”MC” status.

For reclaim waters, IPA, TMA, DMSO and others can be determined. As no pre-concentration is necessary, the standard analysis scheme can be applied.

Summaric DOC-Analysis
(2009)

DOC-LABOR also offers summaric DOC-analyses, particularly for waters below 200 ppb. The standard price for DOC-analysis is 60 € (Euro), for
MC customers 50 € (Euro). The minimum order volume is 100 € (Euro) (2x DOC). Minimum sample volume is 10 mL.

Reports to customers
(2009)

Reports (pdf-format) are sent to customer by e-mail typically within two days after receipt of samples. Reports are treated confidentially and are the exclusive property of customers. Reports in WORD-format are sent upon special request.

Invoicing
(2009)

We generally accept the purchase conditions of our customers.

Within Europe invoices are usually sent by standard mail few weeks after completion of work.
For overseas customers invoices are usually sent by email (pdf). Our invoices show BIC and IBAN data for money transfer.

Unfortunately it is not possible to pay with credit cards. However, this service can be provided through a nearby travel agency.
Transfer documents will show ”Bestminute Travel” as recipient of money.
